Greenery

Serenity and a city are two diametrically opposite concepts, which however, get belied in the ‘beautiful city of Cuttack’. Avinab Bidanasi is a rare epitome of modernization co-existing with nature's preservation. It is here that the trees and plants are as much a part of the construction plans as the buildings and the roads.

The CDA, since inception has been yielding remarkable achievements in the development of urban forestry and greenery at all its projects and layouts. Activities on planned and phased manner have been undertaken continuously to preserve and promote a rich eco-balance, lush green vegetation and beautiful landscapes.

CDA, to act as role model in environmental protection, has developed many parks in its limits. The following are some of the amazing and eye-catching green lands created by CDA

Biju Pattanaik Park

The Picturesque and panoramic ‘Biju Pattanaik Park’ spreads over 45 acres of land in Cuttack. It consists of beautiful alcoves of manicured lawns and landscaped gardens and is considered one of the amazing and eye catching greeneries developed by CDA. Apart from beautiful lawns, it consists of large number of tropical and economic category of trees.

Biju Pattanaik Park is an ideal picnic spot for the people of Orissa.

Jayaprakash Park

Jayaprakash Park is developed in sector -6 of Bidanasi project area over 4.5 acres of land. Out of which 4 acres land area is covered with lawns, various species of flower plants, hedge plants and other types of plants that enhances the beauty of the park.

Biren Mitra Park

Biren Mitra Park is developed over an area of 2.5 acres of land along Kathajori river bank. This beautiful park attracts many visitors from all the corners of the city. Children and aged people come to the park in the evening for relaxation.

Justice J.K.Mohanty Park

Justice J.K Mohanty Park has been developed to provide healthy environment to the residents of Cuttack. The park consists of beautiful landscapes, lush green lawns and ornamental plants that attract visitors to the park everyday.

In addition to the above parks, CDA has developed many landscaped small gardens in Cuttack.

Greenery at Housing Layouts and Colonies

CDA has taken up massive avenue plantation at all its layouts and residential colonies including development of parks. Massive afforested areas have been developed by the CDA to provide a healthy environment to people of fast-polluting commercial city of Cuttack.

Various greenery programmes have also been incorporated in all its plans with the objective of making the city of Cuttack pollution free and a healthy place to live in. Horticulture is also a part of the CDA activities towards providing employment opportunities to the skilled and un-skilled. CDA owns nurseries with plants of all species.
